About myself  

 

 

I was born in St.Petersburg, Russia. I started drawing at an early age. Joining an art club for children in the famous Hermitage museum, at the age of 4, I took part in many worldwide exhibition, some of which I won. In 1981 I completed a Boris Ioganson Academy Art lyseum and spend 2 years in the St.Petersburg Academy of Art, where I improved my realistic drawing skills.

 

In 1989 I graduated from the Academy of Theatre Art, where I specialized in stage and costume design. Since than I have been involved in the production of 20 shows in Murmansk, St.Petersburg and London. I have taken part in many exhibitions in Russia and Europe, where I exhibited my stage design sketchers and fine art painting.

 

I started to teach 20 years ago in St.Petersburgs Art Schools, I was teaching drawing, painting and theatrical composition. When I married and moved to London I started to work in English education setting. The first 5 years it was primary schools. I worked as a teacher associate and run after school art club and different art projects in South Rise Primary school in Plumstead and Linton Mead Primary School in Thamesmead. In 2008 I obtained a Qualified Teacher Status from University of East London and started to teach Art and Design in Secondary Schools of South East London and Kent. I worked in Chislehurst & Sidcup Grammar school, Oasis Academy Hextable and Addey & Stanhope Secondary school.

 

After my 20 years experience in teaching in Russian art schools, Primary, secondary schools of London and community settings I have developed my own program of study, where I use the best methods of 2 countries.

My classes are a combination of the best traditions of academic art education with creativity, freedom of imagination and new innovative techniques. Creative art and the core academic content, which is based on observation drawing, support and compliment each other to create a powerful and engaging learning experience for my students.
